THE WELL INTO THE LIGHT

Jake felt as though he had just been punched in the gut. He had hoped never to find himself in this position again, but here he was. It had been five years since the mudslide in Burundi that had nearly taken Ava, the love of his life, from him forever. The two had finally healed, physically and emotionally, from the horrific experience. They had married, had a beautiful baby, and moved on with their lives...together.

The Well: Into the Light is the sequel to The Well and the second novel by Michelle Barfield. It is the continuation of the incredible love story of Jake and Ava Barringer following the tragedy they endured and survived while in Africa. Once again, they find themselves back in Africa, in a place that should be familiar but had now become more dangerous, even deadly. With the love of God in their hearts and His holy word on their lips, would Jake and Ava escape the all-consuming darkness that threatened to destroy the beautiful life they had built together? Would they ever find their way back to their beloved beach in South Carolina? And would they find their amazing life there still intact?

THE WELL

"Jake looked at Ava and instinctively started to run toward her when the unexpected, the unimaginable, the unthinkable happened...."

Jake Barringer came to Burundi in Africa to dig a well and bring clean drinking water to the villages surrounding Rumonge. He never imagined that he would meet Dr. Ava Lindley, his soul mate, the true and forever love of his life. As Jake and Ava made plans to return to the States and begin a new life together, they could never have imagined the tragic circumstances that they were about to endure. In one horrific night, Jake's beloved Ava would be ripped from his life in a test of faith that would cause Jake to question everything--his life, his faith, and his God. Would a loving God have brought them together just to leave them alone and broken? Or would Jake's faith in the God of miracles leave him with more than he could have ever asked or imagined?

The Well, the first novel by author Michelle Barfield, is the captivating story of faith, hope, and undying love that not only cuts across cultural lines, but spiritual ones as well. The perfect mixture of humor, suspense, and intensity keeps the reader turning page after page in a desperate attempt to discover how this amazing love story will end.

REVIEWS

“Bow-itis??? The clever title prompted me to read it - and I am so glad I did! In Bow-itis, Sullivan from Mrs. Barfield's first book, The Sully Bug (also a great book!), is older and has contracted a strange illness. Her parents are desperate to get to the bottom of it but overlook the obvious! This book is great for readers of all ages. Young readers will enjoy the fun story with bright and colorful illustrations. (I love the turkey bow!) Mrs. Barfield's brilliant use of repetitive text will make them want to read it again and again and again. It's also a fun story for parents. I found myself laughing out loud. (Can't remember the last time I did that reading a children's book.) It cleverly mimics real life in that we get consumed by day-to-day issues and overlook the obvious, the bow :)” - Amazon Customer review of Bow-itis

“This book is so cute! A sweet girl loves wearing bows of all kinds when she comes down with a illness. What could it be? Read to find out. A great book for any girl at any age. Gave my nieces a copy while on vacation. We had so much fun reading it together. Enjoy it today!” -Amazon Customer review of Bow-itis

“This is a really great read from a local artist here in Spartanburg! I don’t know her personally, but if she sees this, I’d like to say… “Keep writing!” We need more Christian novels like this that are realistically Christian! Highly recommend.” – Julie Lightsey Blackwood, reviewing The Well

“Excellent book. I could not put it down.” -Amazon 5 star review of The Well

“I loved this book, could not hardly put it down! Good thing too is that it is not too long, which is good for someone like me that doesn’t have a whole lot of time to read. This will be “well” worth your money! Don’t hesitate” -Robert Nichols – 5 star Amazon review of The Well
